Found some DVDs on sale at a price I couldn't pass, so I picked up:
"The Departed"
"A Scanner Darkly"
"Miami Vice" and...
"De-Lovely" This being the only one I hadn't seen before, but had friends in music tell me they loved it.
I tried to get my brother to watch, "The Departed" with me, but he said, "Isn't that the one about the roof?"
I guess that's how he describes it.
"Yeah, I saw that in a motel."
I questioned further.
"I don't know... I missed the beginning."
"Where in the film did you start watching?" I asked.
"With them up on some roof!"
These people that may be my family can walk through a room, see the TV on and then think that for those brief moments they've seen The Whole Film!
Once I saw a trailer/preview (cause if I say Trailer, he thinks I'm talking about what he hauls behind his truck) with my brother and a few days later someone mentioned the movie and he said, "Oh, I saw that already."
Thinking in his mind, he'd seen the film.

Been thinking of a possible April Fool's gag, but it may be too dangerous.
I shan't even mention it, as children could be harmed if they read this.
One year I posted that I had died. Had a post from a friend telling people that I had passed. This was a terrible idea!
Turns out I had been offered a great job, but when the employers read it, they gave it to someone else believing the death was real.
Also, a girl had planned to make me a wonderful dinner. That too went to someone else.
Lessoned learn. Death Sucks!

I picked up the book, "The Freedom Manifesto: How to Free Yourself from Anxiety, Fear, Mortgages, Money, Guilt, Debt, Government, Boredom, Supermarkets, Bills, Melancholy, Pain, Depression, Work, and Waste," by Tom Hodgkinson.
Been enjoying it very much.
If you've ever read, "The Idler" then you know what you're in store for with this book.
My favorite parts deal with Permaculture.
I would so love to live this way, but I can't stand to sweat or get dirt under my fingernails.

Finally got to see, "No Country for Old Men" after my older brother gave me the DVD case and I excitedly opened it up to see that the disc was missing.
I had to wait a few weeks before we got together again to get the disc.
I really loved it!
I've been thinking about the film a lot. I know people are having troubles with the ending. My other brother was watching it with me and he actually yelled, "WHAT?!!!" when it ended.
I feel, though I may be wrong, that the ending, The Dreams, that Tommy Lee Jones talks about, may in fact be the film. I don't think I can explain what I mean, but I know when I've tried to tell of a dream I've had, never seems to be like the dream I had. It all becomes metaphor.
The telling of it changes everything.

Yesterday I picked up Don Letts, "The Clash: Westway to the World" on DVD and really traveled back in time.
I had such a great time with that documentary and wish I still had all my CDs of The Clash.
They must have been my favorite band at that moment, they really influenced me, I realize that now after all those memories of playing them came rushing back as I watched this movie.
I'm hoping I will see, "The Future is Unwritten" soon!
While watching some videos, I distinctly remember sitting alone in my car after a breaking up with a girl, wondering how life would ever get better and listening to "Train in Vain" for the first time.

YouTube has really changed my life. Anyone who's spent time there sees this is the future of Tee Vee. Only fuzzier and with out of sync sound.
There are so many shows I've missed or are from another country and was unavailable, but thanks to those copyright infringers, I can see great works like this Ingmar Bergman BBC Doc from Arena?
I never had the chance before to see this powerful piece. Just watched the whole series and boy, I was very moved by it. I can't believe he's now around anymore.
Though, watching this he seemed so frail on his little island.

Tonight I had another Acting Workshop, this time in a huge dehumanizing room in the Library.
I've really made a great friend in the Librarian there who has asked if I'd be interested in moderating some films. We kicked around some ideas like, Film Noir and possibly Classic Horror.
I'm really excited about it. I hope we can make it happen!
While driving down the road, I saw a strange sight in front of me, so as is my wont, I grabbed my camera and then later showed the Acting Class how I edit a short film.
So here's:

Happy Easter to all my Peeps!
I thought I'd celebrate by watching one of my favorite films, Mario Bava's "Black Sunday!"
This time, I'm listening to Tim Lucas' audio commentary and learning so much about this great film.
One thing I learned is that it's loosely based on the novel by Nikolai Gogol called, "The Viy"
Here's some really great scenes from the 1967 film by K. Ershov and G. Kropachev.
Here's a trailer for a big budget Russian movie remake that looks pretty good.
This Mario Bava movie Rocks! And another thing I learned is that Bava may have shot "Black Sunday" without even having a script. He may have just made it up as he went along.

I've really become addicted to Dannon's Activia, my favorite being the Mixed Berry Yogurt!
Never was into yogurt as a kid.
All the things I loved as a kid, food-wise, I kinda hate now.
Now I love spinach, broccoli, green beans... Back when I was young, seemed all I ever ate was Pixy Stix and Cap'n Crunch.
Still have all my teeth, which makes me stand out here in these parts of Missouri. Here you will hear, "I think that man is a queer! I can tell cause he has all his teeth!"

I got so many emails from people telling me they watched, The Maury Show. I spent some time just reading and responding to those letters.
While I was writing, I had a DVD of Sidney Lumet's "Network" playing in a small box in the corner of my desktop. I was watching the bonus stuff. Great info about Lumet and Paddy Chayefsky. That movie is so great!
Check it out as Arthur Jensen preaches modern capitalism in a nutshell to Howard Beale!
...all anxieties tranquilized...
I stepped out onto the porch and the flooding is still going on here. A river is pouring over the driveway. I'm here for a while.
Later, I caught Actor Alan Cumming as he describes working with director Stanley Kubrick on the set of, "Eyes Wide Shut" on FORA.tv, "the world's first on-demand, interactive fully searchable media portal delivering spoken words from the world's great writers, leaders, activists and thinkers."
It's very funny what Cumming has to say about Kubrick.
Watch it yourself!

I just watched the local telecast of The Maury Show, they showed the Coral Cafe video over and over and I got my name and Coral Cafe's name in the end credits!
Maury's got some real cute girls working for him!
The station barely came in here, it was all static and it seemed to make it all the more scary.
Maury ROCKS!!!
Today is the day The Maury Show is running my video about the Ghosts of Coral Cafe being caught on a Security Camera!
Maury's Promo for Today's Show about Ghosts!
Locally, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to see it, because it's not one of the two channels this non-dish, non-cable house out in the boonies receives.
I hope someone out there records it for me!
I wish I could go to the Coral Cafe and have a Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich after the show!

My rash is still with me.
My skin is pebbled with bumps. I'm taking the same medication and my dreams are still great.
I think the Doctors were thinking it might be stress related, so in an effort not to be stressed, I'm trying not to do or think about anything stressful.
I'm afraid my skin will be permanently damaged from this. I'll always have alligator skin now.
I'm afraid it's viral, a disease, the plague!
I've been prescribed a cream that has steroids in it to rub on my flesh, but being that now it's all over my body, one tube doesn't go far. Being Left handed, I usually squirt the cream into the palm of my Right hand and rub it on, I've noticed that the finger nails of my Right hand are growing so much faster than my Left hand. Freakishly so. Steroids? I dunno, he said immediately rubbing the cream onto his penis!

It's been raining non stop and the farm has flooded!
I waded out into early morning waist high freezing waters to check on the goats and pigs with their necks barely above it all.
Everyone on the farm is out of town but me, so I can pretend it's all mine and imagine what I would do with it.
I peeled off my soaked clothes and ran a hot bath. With the sound of the washing machine and dryer in the background I cracked open Andrew Morton's New book, "Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography"
Really enjoying this book!
Sure it seems trashy in many parts, but I'm having fun with it.
This would be the perfect beach reading, but now I sit on the edge of a lawn that's now a bank where raging flood waters foam and spray and tear away at the driveway.

The Maury Show is running my video with the Ghosts of Coral Cafe, that's making a huge buzz on the Internet and on the air overseas, well it airs on Maury THURSDAY MARCH 20TH!!!
Tell EVERYONE!
That's this WEEK!!!
When Maury's Producers asked me on the show before, I hoped it wasn't because someone accused me of being their baby's daddy!
This time they made it worth my while!

I would love to build an electric generating windmill for my brother's farm. I have all the plans to do it, but...
Look here at one of those giant windmills in a storm disintegrating!

These are 40 Things my ex-Insurance Agent's Secretary (who is hot and sweet!) sent me:
1.) Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the
ultimate antidepressant.
2.) Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have
to.
3.) Buy a Tivo (DVR), tape your late night shows and get more sleep.
4.) When you wake up in the morning ask yourself, "What do I really, really,
really want today?"
5.) Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.
6.) Watch more movies, play more games and read more books than you did last
year.
7.) Always pray and make time to exercise.
8.) Spend more time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of Six.
9.) Dream more while you are awake.
10.) Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less foods that
are manufactured in plants.
11.) Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan
salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.
12.) Try to make at least three people smile each day.
13.) Clear your clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let new and
flowing energy into your life.
14.) Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of
the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead, invest
your energy in the positive present moment.
15.) Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are
simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class
......but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
16.) Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a
college kid with a maxed out charge card.
17.) Smile and laugh more. It will keep the energy vampires away.
18.) Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
19.) Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
20.) Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
21.) You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
22.) Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
23.) Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey
is all about.
24.) Ladies - Go on and burn those 'special' scented candles, use the 600
thread count sheets, the good china and wear our fancy lingerie now. Stop
waiting for a special occasion. Everyday is special.
25.) No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
26.) Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will
this matter?'
27.) Forgive everyone for everything.
28.) What other people think of you is none of your business.
29.) Time heals almost everything. Give time, time!
30.) However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
31.) Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will.
Stay in touch with them.
32.) Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
33.) Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need. God provides
remember?!
34.) The best is yet to come.
35.) No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
36.) Do the right thing!
37.) Call your friends/family often.
38.) Each night before you go to bed complete the following statement: 'I am
thankful for __________.'
39.) Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.
40.) Enjoy the ride. Remember that this is not Disney World and you
certainly don't want a fast pass. You only have one ride through life so
make the most of it and enjoy the ride.

This is Star Wars according to a 3 year old!

BBC's Francine Stock has a great show with Robert Benton talking about Jean Luc Godard almost directing "Bonnie And Clyde" and a great Godard quote, "I'm talking about Cinema and you're talking Meteorology!"

While driving I noticed a triangular shaped object in the sky.
I quickly grabbed my camera, but it had sped off.
Then I saw a fast moving Black helicopter with no markings. I videotaped it, but it was at that point too far away to be clearly seen by my camera.
Turning down a farm road I saw a beautiful White Owl that I've seen two or three times this month, but never had the chance to capture on camera.
The owl flew off just as my camera powered up, but this flickering triangle shot overhead without a sound.
If I had to guess, it looked to be about 20 feet across, glowing softly and flashed on and off, Black and White before it disappeared.
Check it out!

My brother's Farm has just added two cute lil' pigs to the critters here, so you know what I'm thinking?

This is about the studio my friend Steve works at called, Titmouse and that place is so cool they let all their employees take a day and make their own animated cartoons using studio equipment and time!
The shorts are only 5 seconds long, but hey...
Take a look!

Hey, the New National TV commercial for United Steel Buildings with my voice is airing all over the place!
Check it out right here!

I might be one of the few that liked Ang Lee's version, but I'm very excited about this new "Incredible Hulk!"
Liv Tyler instead of Jennifer Connelly, has me worried a bit.
Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors, so it'll be cool!

"Diary of the Dead" is one I'm really waiting for!
I was listening to someone on the BBC saying even though Romero is in his 60's, it's like a film made by a 20 year old. He meant that in a good way.
I know the whole framing device of a video camera telling the story has been done to death, I'm hopeful about this film.
Here in the country, I might shoot a quick ripoff and release it as "Dairy of the Dead" about Zombie Cows! Tagline: Madcow!

8 8 8 is the Date!
8/8/08 is when Hell Ride gets released!
I'm a huge Larry Bishop fan! Seen all his films and was blown away with his scene stealing moment as Michael Madsen's Tittie Bar Boss in Kill Bill vol. 2. The guy just ROCKS!
"You don't even know what fuckin' day yer werkin'..."
And on top of just being so cool, he's Joey Bishop's son!!!
Here's some pics, just look how cool it is to see Dennis Hopper back on wheels, and I don't mean a wheelchair, mister!

Watched that movie about Neale Donald Walsch called, "Conversations with God"
Hey, I got it at the Library, it was free!
I haven't read the book, but he's on "The Secret" DVD and I liked him there, so I watched it.
Wow! I guess I needed to see this film! It was better than I thought it was going to be. He's this guy in his 40's, loses his job on the radio, get divorced, becomes homeless, stop me if this sounds familiar...
Then just like what happened to John Denver in that movie with George Burns, God starts talking to him.
Then he writes down what God tells him and he becomes a Millzillionaire!
I love stories like this!

The drugs I'm taking give me amazing dreams:
In this one, I was driving my dad's Lincoln Towncar up a very very steep hill when the engine dies and the car begins rolling backwards down the hill. The car is picking up speed, but the brakes are gone and I can't stop it. I'm steering frantically. Navigating around corners, cars, houses...
I look at the dashboard for any button or lever to push/pull to stop it. The radio explodes!
Finally, I slow the car down by scrapping the sides against a guardrail around a curve corner of a park. Sparks fly.
Everything quiets down and it's peaceful in the park.
Suddenly, the car is surrounded by young Black men. A gang! They're Bloods!
One asks, "Are you okay?"
Another one, "Man, I was so worried about you!"
Yet another one reaches in, offering his hand to help me out of the smoking car.
"You're going to be fine now." He wipes the sweat off my head with his bandanna.
"You really are." They all say it together.

I wrote the other day about quitting the writing on this page and many people were very kind to respond, but I guess Jessica hit the nail on the head with:'
"Maybe you're just bored with where you are, not who you are."
Wasn't it in Dune where "Travel awakens the Sleeper within?" Yet they traveled through space without moving.
I'd hate living in the heat of a spice planet. I just know with my luck the Spacing Guild would drop me on the Cayenne Pepper Spice Planet!

Going through DVDs I want to keep and what ones I want to pass on to others, I popped in my copy of, "Brakhage" about Stan Brakhage and his work/life.
In it George Kuchar appears via stills, because Stan wouldn't let him shoot in video. It was funny and sweet, that segment and it reminded me of this small look at George Kuchar at work.
I knew a former student of his and he told me about how much fun his classes were, but how his life was changed by meeting Kuchar.
