There's so many cool things that have happened to me these last few days, but I'm so weak, I can barely type.

This weekend, I'm going to try to go see my Elementary and High School.

Found out my niece got her belly button pierced at the same place I had my ear pierced many, many years ago. That was weird!

Discovered the diner where I lost my virginity to an older waitress (I was underage!) is still in business. I wonder if she's still there? I drove by, but couldn't get myself to stop, besides, I'm fasting!

30 Days of NO FOOD!!!

Man, I'm ready to eat, but I dunno...

I get the feeling food has forgotten all about me. Food is like a girl ignored, look away for just a bit and she's gone.

I had no idea my writing was published in Los Angeles City Beat...

...after all this time, they never let me know!

Link

And El Topo is playing and I'm nowhere near New Beverly!

Someone find me a paper copy of City Beat and send it to me!

Here is a New Video I made of how it is driving around here in Missouri!

I hope you like it.

No one was hurt!

My brother's farm and all over this area is infested with TICKS!!!

I can't stand it!

Blood Sucking Monsters!

Vampire-like insects that crawl on you and bury their tiny heads under your skin and bleed you dry while they gorge on your precious vino and other bodily fluids until they are fat and swollen and unable to drink no more.

I've discovered 11 ticks on me so far, while I've been here!

Late last night I found a tick sucking on me where no man should find something so hideous...

I dare not say...

Tonight I was driving through the dark roads of Missouri trying to find something on the radio when I came across the COOLEST SHOW EVER!!!

Hearts of Space!

You have to check it out. I would listen to this all the time!

I guess I can, because they have all the shows online!

The music I heard tonight was so trippy and scary and somehow familiar. The host then said it was from the computer game Myst. Then I knew why I'd heard it before.

Go check the page out, it'll make your life better!

Dragged my brother and his wife, who NEVER go to the movies, to see Michael Moore's "Sicko" and they really got into it.

The Moxie Theatre in downtown Springfield is small and it was a sellout crowd.

I have to tell you I was very very moved by the film, even crying in some parts. I didn't want my brother seeing me, so I kept wiping my tears quickly. I was afraid he would make fun of me later. My shirt sleeves were soaked with tears.

I wasn't the only one crying there were sniffles and noseblowing through the whole theatre.

Go see this film!

After we stopped off at Steak and Shake where they had great looking burgers and I had my delicious soup broth... 25 days without food!!!

Fast still in action!!!

I'm on the last hole in my Coach Belt and it's loose!

My head is now way too big for my body and I'm looking like a lollipop based on that kid in the movie, "Powder."

Don't know if this is a good look or not?

Let's get busy making things!

I went to a crafts fair and some of the crap these people were selling was, well, CRAP!

Was thinking I could do so much better, then met a woman selling her hand made soap. I bought a few bars of her Tea Tree and started talking with her hot daughter about "Fight Club" seems that's what inspired her mom.

She seemed to be the only booth doing any business.

I think I could make soap!

VW Bus Billiards Table!

Remember "Eyes Wide Shut"'s Red pool table? Kubrick said, "You can never trust a man who owns a Red Pool Table."

I want me some of these small cars!!!

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

Here's a guy who built his own Opaque Projector!

I stopped off at a store called Hobby Lobby, it's kinda like a Michael's store, lots of crafts. Anyway, I've been wanting a projector to do some murals with and asked the clerk. He didn't think they had any so he asked the manager, he found a bunch.

There were probably 5 different types and the one I really liked was a French made one that had a copy area of 7 by 11 inches. Meaning I could put a photo or something of that size in it and it would be projected onto what ever I wanted to reproduce it on.

The machine was discounted to $30!!!

I should have bought it, but I hesitated and left. I thought about it all night and when I returned the next day, the price was changed to something over $100!!!

I guess they thought there was some sort of demand for them after they had to look them up for me.

You wait, you lose...

Monday, August 20, 2007

I went to Aurora, Missouri to watch a movie about David Webb, who was born in Nixa, Missouri.

This was my 1st time at The Princess 3 Theatres!

I watched, "The Bourne Ultimatum." My new Insurance Agent told me about the theatre, so I had to check it out.

The musty smell gave me a headache and a granddaddy long-leg crawled up my arm in the middle of the movie. I use to work in the film exhibition business in Texas, so nuthin' bothers me.

Well, almost.

The film ROCKED, by the way. Paul Greengrass is my new favorite director!

Life on the farm can be beautiful, most of the time the beauty is indescribable, but make no mistake, Nature is violent, chaotic, destructive...

Today, I burned a puppy!

I'd doused it with two cans of lighter fluid and set its little body ablaze.

Just a day ago, this sweet little girl, a puppy of the world-famous "Snowball" was running, jumping and playing, but it became feverish, began vomiting and died before treatment could be taken.

The veterinarian believed it was a contagious virus transmitted by birds and their feces to dogs, cats and possibly other farm critters. He said the virus stays on the ground for nine months and kills instantly, so we had to take action to protect the other animals.

I couldn't just bury the dog. It would've been dug up. If I left it to rot, more birds or other animals would be infected if they tried to eat it.

Today, I burned a puppy.

I think this time while I am in Springfield, Missouri, I will try to track down some old friends and see if I can get reacquainted and catch up on lost time.

An old friend from Alabama who I used to live with and work with and believe it or not, was and is one of the best Elvis impersonators, e-mail me to tell me his performance at an Elvis convention is on youtube!

This is the link, he's, I think, the third one in...

Well? Have you ever had a roommate that was an Elvis Impersonator?

I realize some days have passed and I have failed to mention my continuing Fast.

Yes, it is true, I'm still fasting!

17 days without food!

On the road I had nothing but water. I didn't think I would be able to travel without partaking in crappy road food, but Fasting has never been easier for me.

Too bad I'm not posting pictures anymore, because I am thinner and hotter looking then I've been in a long time!

And by "hotter," I've course mean temperature-wise, because it is still over a hundred degrees!

Thursday, August 16, 2007

I've never slept as deeply as I have here in this room in this house halfway buried in the side of the mountain that my brother and his wife built.

It has concrete walls and no windows and when the light is off it is as dark as the inside of a witch's butt.

ZZZzzzzzzzz

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

My eyes are fried and I am hypnotized!

I have finally made it to my brother's farm, I drove on empty from the Missouri State line to their place because my bank declined my credit card thinking it had been stolen because of all the erratic purchases and locations of the trip.

I got to his farm early in the a.m. and surprised them, because they had no idea I was coming...

...they didn't appear to be all that thrilled.

I guess I'm not the prize I believed I was in my heart.

Tuesday, August 14, 2007

I took a different route this time, I went through Colorado and ALL of Kansas. I know it's my birth state, but up until Wichita, It's really boring, well after, too.

Was in Dodge City, Kansas, that's where "Gunsmoke" took place and was the birth home of Dennis Hopper. I just knew there would be a museum for him, but was unable to find one. Maybe it is my calling to create the Dennis Hopper Museum!

I saw a sign that said, "Hopper!" and thought I had found his birthplace, but it was a Burger King announcing a "Whopper" but the "W" was missing.

It was a great trip! Long. Hot. But what I needed. Now I need lots of sleep!

Monday, August 13, 2007

I stayed in a $25 a night motel in Ash Fork, AZ that had cigarette burns in the sheets and a big lizard that jumped on me twice in the bed. Now I know what a $25 a night place is like, it was HORRIBLE! I slept in my stinky clothes.

It's been over 105 degrees all the way and the back of my hands are burnt from steering.

I'm driving at night from now on!

Sunday, August 12, 2007

I am having way more difficulty finding the wi-fi spots on this trip than on the trip before!

So many places now want to charge you.

It is so hot out here on the road. I'm getting sunburned on my fingers because they are on the steering wheel and I'm driving into the sun.

There is zero radio reception.

I have a nice collection of mp3s that I refuse to listen to, choosing instead to try to match the frequency emanating from the tires on the road to the sound of, "OM" I am making with my mouth.

I have been chanting for the last 400 miles.

"Nam yo ho ren ghe kyo"

I truly believe this saved me from certain death on the highway.

Saturday, August 11, 2007

Sometimes when it comes to making major decisions, for me to take personal action, I have to jump in spontaneously without a plan or any forethought.

I have packed up everything I own, loaded up my car and hit the highway!

More details soon...

Been craving cucumbers!

My mom use to make me cucumber sandwiches. I loved them! Little round slices, lightly salted sitting on a moisened floor of mayonaise spread across two pieces of White bread all slapped together to create a crunching and juicy treat!

GAWDDAMN! I am HUNGRY!!!

I'm also thinking about my mom's Deviled Eggs. Jumping Jesus, were those awesome!

Okay, that's it!

No more food talk!

Thursday, August 09, 2007

A friend was asking me about what kind of music I like and I guess he doesn't like the kind of songs I play, because he seemed disturbed.

He likes music from the 80's.

I do, too.

I like all kinds of music.

I started thinking about how my favorite films are old ones, then I realized my favorite books are from the 30's and 40's. I just bought Hard Case Crime's FRIGHT by Cornell Woolrich and I'm digging it.

Sometimes it's neat to time travel through art.

It appears that I'm losing 2 and a half pounds a day!

And millions of brain cells!

I'm woozy.

I'd like to start eating healthy organic foods, but I'm fantasizing about cheeseburgers and all manner of things deep fried.

I'd eat my foot deep fried at this point.

I dreamed about hushpuppies last night. Not the shoes, but those fried balls of heaven my mom made with catfish!

MMmmm.

Been running some ads in LA Weekly and Craig's List for the Acting Workshop and some of the people responding look awesome and appear to be extremely talented!

I really would like to try and get myself in gear to actually shoot some movie everyday in the coming year. Every Day!

I know it would be hard to do, Or would it?

Have to get rolling, get the momentum up, get the juices going... I'm worn out just typing that thought.

The Fast is draining me of my precious life forces.

Been teaching a class in Pomona in addition to my classes in Universal City and I think I may have fallen in love with the Inland Empire!

Pomona ROCKS!

It's a cute town, old, Artists are moving in, there's a bakery there that the smell is incredible and things, like rent are cheaper.

People I know bad mouth it without ever being there other than The LA County Fair, or some car racing thing, but to them all I have to say is, "Dude, Jessica Alba was born there!" and all is forgotten.

On my friend David's page:

Jürgen Fauth writing: "Because of the constant references to film as a medium, I was worried that seeing the film on DVD (available on August 14) would diminish the experience more than it usually does. But like the river you famously can't step into twice, "Inland Empire" is a shape-shifter of a movie that reconstitutes itself differently every time, and my own TV screen turned out to be a fascinating place to see it."

Then he adds: "Let me draw your attention to a connection that took me by complete surprise last night (yes, I screamed.)"

But I found another connection:

In Billy Wilder's Sunset Boulevard, Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson) describes to Joe Gillis (William Holden) a film version of Salome that she has written for her return to cinema. Gillis cynically retorts "They'll love it in Pomona" and Desmond fails to notice his sarcasm, responding, "They will love it every place."

Studios use to Test their films in Pomona to see whether the film will live or die.

Inland Empire contains a monologue in which two homeless women discuss people they know in Pomona and whether or not you can get there from Los Angeles by bus.

Also, Lucy and Ricky had their honeymoon there!

The Fast is going slow and my dreams are FREAKY!

They are very short in length as they are getting interrupted because I'm constantly getting up to go pee because of the massive amounts of water I'm drinking.

I've actually been awakened by the sound of my stomach growling. I thought a bear was loose in the room.

I was teaching and my stomach was so loud it began to disturb the students.

Not that I'm doing this Fast for weight loss, I'm not, It's just a wonderful side effect, but I seem to be losing about 3 pounds a day.

I'm 15 pounds lighter than when I started on the 1st!

Wow!

A friend and I got a Ouija Board, it's not one of the Parker Bros., though...

I'm told, by those in the know, or Unknown that the older boards from 1950s, 60s, are the best, the ones made of Masonite. News ones are pretty flimsy.

I love the old designs on some that I've seen online. The really old ones.

We cracked it open to try it out!

The booklet that came with it had so many rituals that you had to go through before the horror was to begin, I was worn out before it started.

We lit candles.

We lit incence.

We held hands.

We put our fingers on the planchette.

We asked questions.

I asked, "How many Spirits are with us now?

"9" was answered.

I asked for a name and "JAKE" was spelled out.

I asked if my mother was here and "MAYBE" was answered.

This was over a hour to get just that. And really, How can you trust that the other person isn't moving it around?

Well, I was disappointed in this board. It has four folds in it and the planchette kept getting stuck in the grooves.

The board was trouble. I wonder if I should put a sheet of glass over it to smooth it out?

I'd love to get about 5 people together and do this for real in some truly old place here in Hollywood.

I was in Ventura, because I just love it and saw this:

Ghosts in the News!

Ghost of Filmmakers make great stories!

"His name is Gaston Méliès, the older, less famous brother of pioneering French filmmaker Georges. Méliès was involved, one way or another, in the production of dozens of motion pictures beginning in 1903. As a director, he shot more than 20 films in the area, including a one-reeler called The Ghost of Sulphur Mountain. A fan of booze, poker and ladies of the evening, it is suggested Méliès probably spent a lot of time at the Glen Tavern Inn, patronizing its third floor brothel. In 1912, two days before the sinking of the Titanic, some of his actors got into a brawl with the innkeeper, sparking a local tabloid scandal. Méliès returned to France soon afterward and spent his remaining years sailing the world with his wife. He died in 1915."

So many great filmmakers like Ingmar Bergman and Michelangelo Antonioni are dying, I just know great ghost stories are on the way!

Some posts back, I was talking about song lyrics people mess up and the response was huge. People really identify with this subject. Here's two I like.

Jessica wrote:

RE: Misheard lyrics

I think the whole family has a hearing deficit, because Mom always thought the lyrics to the Pina Colada song said "If you like cheese enchiladas", because she did. When Jeremy and Jill were little they thought ELO's "Evil Woman" was "Weeble Woman" and they could totally relate. I'm sure I've got more somewhere in my cobwebby memory.

Rob wrote:

When I was young, I had a friend whose mother used to love CCR. We came in to hear her singing along to Stuck in Lodi. Her lyrics went as follows: "Oh Lord, Sucking on old Dianne..."

I rolled for a good 45 minutes with uncontrollable laughter. She had grown up with CCR and she didn't know the real lyrics? Wow.

Don't want harp on the fast too much, but I think a monthlong fast would be so much easier if I were in a coma.

People always seem to be amazed when they hear I fast. Sometimes their jaw drops open when I tell them the longest fast I did was 42 days. Then they ask why?

I have no real good answer.

I guess I like to withhold things from myself, like food, sex, happiness...
