Watched "Hard 8" from "Boogie Nights" director Paul Thomas Anderson. It's his first film and it's got Phillip Baker Hall, John C. Reilly, Gwyneth Paltrow and Samuel L. Jackson.

It was pretty slow moving at the beginning for me, but I thought maybe it's the NyQuil I'm taking, so I stopped it and waited awhile.

Emptied a few Kleenex boxes later and went to it again.

Much better, I think it was just me.

Still, I think maybe PT may have known what he was doing, but it could have been the Sundance Lab messing him up. Maybe they were screwing with his confidence, or maybe the studio was...

It didn't seem right. I wonder if there's a director's cut? Feels like it was fiddled with.

I could be wrong. I still dug it.

Then I watched, "Creature from the Haunted Sea" directed by Roger Corman. Starring Robert Towne as Secret Agent, XK150.

How Robert Towne went from this to "Chinatown" must be a great story. I'd never seen it before.

Then I watched, "Nightmare Castle" starring Barbara Steele. I'd always heard bad things about this film, but I enjoyed it as I sipped my NyQuil. Steele is gorgeous with her dark hair, cat eyes and pale skin... Just beautiful!

Then I dreamed.
