Watched the DVD of "Smothered" a nice documentary about The Smother Brothers and their fights with censorship during the run of their series.
Then the films "Tears of the Black Tiger," "Breaking and Entering," and "Science of Sleep" which I've already seen twice in the theatre. There was an excellent bit on the extras about the girl who desighned and made the soft animals like the birds and the horse. She was asked by Michel Gondry what he should name the horse in the film and she text messaged him:
"I call all my horses, "Heaven."
Stay Golden, Pony-Boy"
Signing off with a nod to "The Outsiders" but Gondry didn't catch the reference, so he thought she meant the horses name was, "Golden Pony Boy." Good Stuff!
I loved that since there was a time where me and my friends endlessly quoted "The Outsiders."
Quite a movie day, during snow flurries and the impending heavy snow that they say we'll get tomorrow.
I also had the DVD, "Fur" about one of my favorite photographers, Diane Arbus laying out ready to pop in the machine. My sis-in-law asked if it was about, "Trapping" as in the kind of fur... Oh, I'm sure you get it.
Can't wait to watch it, Steven Shainberg made it and he did one of my fav movies, "Secretary" so I gotta see it!
