Spent Oscar night at Mulberry Street Pizza because Cathy Moriarty who owns it made her first film appearance at age 17, playing Jake LaMotta's wife Vicky, opposite Robert De Niro in the classic 1980 film "Raging Bull."

She was nominated for an Oscar for that performance and Martin Scorsese who directed that, finally won his Oscar tonight for "The Departed!"

Screenwriter William Monahan will reteam with Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, because he knows a good thing, I guess.

The project for Paramount Pictures is titled "The Long Play" a rock 'n roll epic about two friends through 40 years in the music business, from the early days of R&B to contemporary hip-hop. Mick Jagger will produce the film.

Monahan will work with DiCaprio on a remake of another Hong Kong film, "Confessions of Pain" from Alan Mak, Andrew Lau and Felix Chong, the dudes behind "Infernal Affairs," the original film in which "The Departed" was based on.

Didn't like the pizza or the Oscars, but I enjoyed the place and seeing Cathy Moriarty's pictures and stuff all over the walls and wished she was doing more cool work in films. Maybe she is. The waiter told me she's living in Florida.

I think she rocks!
