You know how some people (non-Whites?) hate to hear, "They all look alike..." right?

Well, here's a story for ya. One night I drive by a new bar. It use to be a rather historic place in the community for people to get drunk, but now its been redone as another bar.

There were people hanging outside as I was driving by and was stopped at an intersection by a Red light. They all turned to look at me and a few waved. I thought that was weird, but nice and friendly.

Later at a diner a guy waved at me and said something like, "I was at (the bar) and saw you, Howya doing?" I thought that too was weird that he remembered me just from me driving by.

Night before last I stopped by the bar to try it out and to get my Baccardi and Coke fix and as I'm walking in, the big Black doorman gives me the glad hand, a huge smile and a big shoulder to shoulder hug made popular by the hip hop culture. Awesome! I go in and the bartenders wave to me. Fantastic!

I've found my Cheers! Everyone is so nice! They'll all soon know my name!

I go back to the bar last night because It's gonna be my Cheers and I'll be Norm!

Then as I'm walking up, I see that tonight's doorman is a big guy with a shaved head and maybe looks like me a little...

He gives me the once over with his stare.

I go in and people give me a look and then they tilt their heads to the side a bit like a dog that hears a high pitched whistle.

I sit at the bar.

The doorman walks in and sits at the other end of the bar exactly opposite from where I am and people sitting in between look like their watching a tennis match as their heads go back and forth from me to the doorman and back.

I guess it's like a mirror.

I'm thinking of Lucy and Harpo in the doorway on "I Love Lucy!"

Everyone thinks I look like this guy!

I don't see it... Oh God, please don't let me look like this guy!

I already have the WORST self image.

Just because we have shaved heads doesn't mean we all look alike!

I'd rather look like a buff Ed Norton in "American History X" minus the tattoos and racism, than Curly from "The Three Stooges!"
