I've fucking had it with radio!

Every once in a while, I get a call, or an e-mail from a station somewhere that knows my work and asks about their chances of getting me and my interest in moving to their station and or market.

I tell them what my feelings are, then they start in with what I would be willing to work for. Then they try and get me at a lower price. Then I tell them I will do it at that price. Then I don't hear back from them. Then I call. Then they tell me some more bullshit. Then they say they want to go in another direction.

All of this after getting me to humiliate myself by accepting their low price and getting my hopes up about creating something cool in their city.

This week alone I've had 4 friends tell me they've left radio for other interests. One is now in real estate, another doing software stuff, another is a stage manager for a traveling theatre company and the fourth one is a stay at home dad... I don't even know if he has kids.

Steve sent me an article about how more people listen to online radio, than AM/FM. People are getting podcasts and streaming content and giving up their radio.

Phil Hendrie leaves radio to do TV, then his sitcom gets cancelled by NBC!

Steve and others have pressured me so much about getting my podcast going and I promise I will, because other than the stations I am currently employed by now, I am through with radio!

Fuck Radio!
