I wanted to get this up for his birthday, but was too lazy to go find it. I'm only 3 months late...

Henry Rollins has been a big influence on me. I want to make movies like he makes music or writes books. He just seems to make his own distribution routes.

At one of my regular hangouts, from time to time, I would see the actor Clu Gulager. I was a big fan of his television work as a kid, I appear in one film with him, was at a friend's house when he left a several page handwritten letter on the screen door kindly letting him know why he would not appear in my friend's film and yet later did. I always made sure I stopped by his table to say, "Hi!" and give him the glad hand.

At several parties for friends I would see the entire Gulager Clan. His son John was someone I would see at a distance and think to myself, "I could get along with this guy."

John Gulager directed the movie, "Feast."

I always believed that TV show, "Project Greenlight" was going out of its way to make John look bad.

In this interview with Henry Rollins I talked to him about John, David Lynch, Michael Mann, Michael Bay and the first time I met him in person when the I introduced Rollins on stage for two days at Lollapalooza.
