Today I drove down to LA!
I looked around to see if it has missed me at all?
No...
It hasn't changed much but it was nice to see it again! I can't help but think, as I drove around that there is so much in the way of possibilities for me there.
There's is an energy of creativity in the air.
I stayed with Aaron's dad, Robert Graysmith and he told me great tales of Hollywood turning his books into movies and how if feels to have Jake Gyllenhaal play him in the upcoming "Zodiac."
He cook two dinners for me!
Showed me how he writes, then physically cuts up the manuscript, then glues it all back, then gets rid of it and rewrites the whole thing from memory.
Lots of work!
In the 3 or 4 months his been in town he's already written something like 7 books! I asked him about this cool trendy holiday the National Novel Writing Month puts on where the goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel in one month. I wondered if he could do that?
"Oh, I could do that easy!" he said.
He took me and Steve out to see "King Kong" and as we were standing in line behind some cute girls to get tickets, I said, "Remember, It's three adults for, "Brokeback Mountain,"" as they both backed away from me.
I can't wait to see the movie, "Zodiac" I love David Fincher's work and hearing behind the scene stories makes me even more excited about it.
