Didn't make the drive to LA like I wanted, but I'm sure I'll be stuck in enough Holiday Traffic sometime soon.

Tried getting sleep in the day so I could drive through the night, but the phone kept ringing on into the night. I even put a "The Number you are dialing is no longer in service" three tone signal before my message to weed out the telemarketers.

USA was running, "Private Parts" tonight and Howard Stern mania is everywhere with Sirius ads all over the web and TV. I watched the movie again for the 15th time and am still amazed at how they captured the feeling of what it's like to try and be creative with non-creative people.

I always think it's funny how some radio people posture themselves by talking how horrible Stern is. When it's plainly jealousy, that he's created a legacy in media that is unparalleled. Orson Welles, Jack Benny, Bob Hope... We should be so happy we live in a time that Stern is alive and producing.

I remember working for a guy, I won't say his name, but it rhymed with, "He Hurt His Johnson," and in a meeting he went on and on about how horrible Stern is and I remember thinking...

"This guy does not appreciate talent, has no idea what is good for radio and soon will do something to prove me right about that."

He did.

At the premiere for "Private Parts" in LA I was very excited, I was on the rise, Don Buchwald, Stern's agent was my agent at the time, I sat next to the actor that played Don Imus, my then wife was a happening PR chick at Universal's Feature Film Department, things were going great with after parties...

But I remember thinking at one point in the movie, that Stern had found people really needed what he could offer and How could anyone compete with him when he's the best?

I flipped over to MSNBC and watched "Imus in the Morning" as he was talking about Trump choosing Randal as the fourth "Apprentice" and I swear, I could barely understand him. The channel needed to take that News crawl off the bottom of the screen and put subtitles so I could understand his marble-mouth, then they put on Tom Brokaw!!! Two people talking who could barely speak! Maybe it's my hearing...

When ever I think of NYC, I think about my time there, the David Letterman Show, Conan O'Brien, but I always think of Howard Stern first. Now I think of "King Kong." I can't get that movie out of my head!

Fun stuff to enjoy with Jack Black on Letterman!
