Wow, what a day! I had a bad dream early this morning so disturbing that I just know I must have woke the whole apartment building with my screaming. Yet, I can't remember what it was...
I met Aaron at Coral Cafe, then we hit the road to Santa Anita Park to win on the Horses. We met Mister Chen, the head chef at Frontier Wok, there and got to see him in his element. I'll post some photos as soon as Aaron sends them over. It was a lot of fun. I've never been to the races before. I've never bet before. I bet $2 and lost today and I felt I learned my lesson. Aaron however applied his scientific mind to assembling an equation to decipher the probability... He worked at it and won $15!
In the last race we watched, we saw a horse stumble and flip over. I don't know how many times I've seen stuff like that on TV, Real TV, or Faces of Death-kinda stuff, but seeing live, right there in front of me... Really disturbed me. I can't help feeling bad for the horse. I wish some how, it was like the little horses I played with as a little kid. I could pick it up and hold it and make sure it's legs were okay and cradle it in my arms. I would wrap a warm washcloth around it and put it in some straw in the barn and close up the barn in my toy chest and let it sleep away the pain. Then tomorrow after church or school when I'm ready to play, I would pull it out of the box and see it all happy and ready to run around the foot of my bed. I hope the horse is okay. I might find it hard to sleep tonight. I might need you to come home with me and hold me. I feel I might be too sensitive to gamble on the lives of animals. Maybe, you can take a warm washcloth and wash me in the tub and make me feel better about today's activities. You could sooth me. Whisper to me so the candles don't blow out. We could crawl into bed under warm blankets and hold each other. It would feel so good knowing we didn't have to sleep alone in a cold barn after a bad fall.
